Our eggs are certified Homegrown by Heroes by the Farmer Veteran Coalition
We currently have 5 barrows (castrated males) who are being grown out for meat. The 5 we have currently came to us from other farms in the area. Kune Kunes are a slow-growing heritige breed, so these guys will be with us until about 12-18 months. Going forward, any piglets we have that we do not intend to register and sell, will be castrated and rotated in as grow out stock to feed our family.
While it's hard to look at these sweet faces and think of them becoming food, we know exactly where our food comes from and just how it was raised from birth to butcher. We know what our pigs have eaten, that they were exposed to sunshine, that they were loved on just the same as our breeding stock and lived a good life out on pasture. We pride ourselves in the way our animals live, regardless if they are breeding stock or for butcher.
